Grit Green Shift’s DNA unearthed in Berwick

Liberal leader Stéphane Dion visited Cornwall Wednesday to tout the benefits of his party’s “Green Shift” plan,...

Dion told a local audience the Liberals’ proposal to shift taxes onto emissions, pollution and waste is gaining support across the country as a way of tackling the challenge of climate change. The leader said he hopes to build a coalition of support for the plan that extends beyond traditional party lines.

MP, Dion at loggerheads

Tory claims that the Liberals' "Green Shift" plan will negatively impact farmers and rural Canadians simply aren't true, said party leader Stéphane Dion.

"If it was true then economists around the country would say the same thing. The overwhelming majority of them are saying we're doing the right thing," said Dion in an interview with the Standard- Freeholder on Tuesday.

The federal Liberals in SDSG submit two policy resolutions.

During a regional policy meeting in Perth on June 28th, 2008, the Liberals of SDSG submitted two policy resolutions. They were unanimously adopted by the assembly and will be submitted to the next Ontario federal Liberal convention.
